GRAVE PLEASURES - Plagueboys

From the ashes of Beastmilk, comes Finland’s Grave Pleasures. ‘Plague Boys’ is their second full length album as Grave Pleasures and it is absolutely immaculate. The nihilism and apocalyptic themes persist and prevail in lyrical wit over a back drop of shimmering bombastic post-punk goth-rock. Every song is extremely catchy and the hooks are undeniable. The band wears their influences on their sleeve, but this is not copy-cat stuff and far from parody. It’s a fantastic homage to doom-laden goth-rock that has come before and being done in a relevant and fresh way in the now. ‘Plague Boys’ is dark, beautiful, intelligent, and seriously rocks. Perfect soundtrack to a dreary day, the car, and blasting at a party.
