New Castle Colorado’s Stone Deaf are back with their third full length album entitled “Killers”. Ten tracks of upbeat groove laden Stoner Rock at its finest. It’s an extremely fun audible ride and deserves to be blasted while tearing down the highway with the top and windows down. The exotic Eastern tinged guitar licks and solo on “Death Ray” are friggin awesome as Mr. Chapin proves his axe wielding prowess. His solos throughout the album are incredibly tasty, adding the right amount of texture and flair without being over-indulgent. Equally talented is the rhythm section comprised of KP (drums) and Cody Isaman (bass), who bring the thump and stomp in huge waves. The full throttle boogie takes a reprieve in the middle with the slow creepy and plodding number called “Snake Oil”. Dust’s voice is great and fits perfectly like icing on top of all the clever instrumentation. The head bobbin foot tappin agenda continues from track 7 until the album closer, “San Pedro Winter”, which is another slow hypnotic psychedelic jam. Keep it on repeat, because you’ll definitely want to jam this album again and again.
